This summer's Teen Science Café STEM Track was led by someone who knows firsthand the power of hands-on STEM education. Quanye's journey with LET'S GO began in fourth grade with FIRST LEGO League robotics at Westport Academy, where building and programming robots sparked his passion for technology and problem-solving. The hands-on, collaborative environment gave him confidence to tackle complex challenges while developing critical thinking skills essential to his educational journey.
Through Maryland Science Olympiad and the Baltimore Bolts robotics team, Quanye deepened his STEM knowledge and leadership abilities. During high school, LET'S GO hired him to mentor the very FLL team where his journey began. After graduating from Ben Franklin High School and earning his associate's degree at Baltimore City Community College, he became a certified paraprofessional for Baltimore City Public Schools.
This summer, Quanye returned full circle as the lead robotics instructor for our high-school Teen Science Café program. Currently pursuing cybersecurity studies at Coppin State University, he exemplifies how LET'S GO creates cycles of community investment, with alumni ensuring the next generation has access to the same transformative opportunities.
