In November 2008, on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, Dr. Clark "Corky" Graham worked with his first group of students at the Boys and Girls Club in Annapolis. With a newfound enthusiasm for STEM education, he had purchased a Lego Robotics Kit the night before and set out to introduce the kids to the world of robotics. About 15 students participated, all eager to learn. As Corky recalls, "The kids were curious and wanted to know more about designing and building an autonomous robot. They asked me to teach them how to build a robot. I told them I didn’t know, and we’d have to learn together." This moment marked the beginning of what is now LET'S GO!
Corky's unwavering passion for STEM education and his dedication to our mission continue to inspire us all. Since that first session, LET'S GO has impacted over 34,000 students, delivered 1,825 hands-on activities, trained 1,484 teachers, and has partnered with 141 program sites across Anne Arundel County, Baltimore City, Washington, DC, Transylvania County, NC, and Haiti.
Thank you, Corky, for lighting the spark that continues to ignite curiosity and learning in so many young minds!
