I first joined LET’S GO 10 years ago as a student at Govans Elementary School. From day one, I received the encouragement and support of LET’S GO Education Manager, Ms. Porter, who inspired me to explore STEM and pursue opportunities that challenged me to grow.

Building Skills That Last a Lifetime

Now, as a senior at Green Street Academy in Baltimore City, set to graduate in 2026, I can see how far I’ve come. Throughout my time in LET’S GO, I’ve developed skills that will stay with me for a lifetime. The program helped me strengthen my leadership and teamwork abilities and prepared me for future career opportunities through career readiness training.

One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is how to improve my public speaking skills, which has boosted my confidence both in school and beyond. These experiences have helped me tackle challenges with a sense of purpose and resilience.

Looking Ahead to a Career in Engineering

I always look forward to participating in LET’S GO programs and supporting its mission in any way I can. My ultimate goal is to earn a bachelor’s degree in engineering, and I’m particularly interested in electrical or mechanical engineering, where I can apply my problem-solving skills to real-world challenges.

LET’S GO has given me a vision of what’s possible, helping me see myself as a future engineer, innovator, and contributor to my community.

The Impact of LET’S GO

Personally, LET’S GO has been instrumental in shaping who I am today. It has provided opportunities I would not have had otherwise, from exploring STEM fields to developing confidence and leadership. I know the lessons and experiences I’ve gained will continue to guide me throughout my career and beyond.

My journey is a testament to the power of mentorship, hands-on learning, and long-term support. LET’S GO doesn’t just teach students about STEM—it equips us with the skills, confidence, and vision to become the leaders and innovators of tomorrow.
